FAQ

Frequently asked questions about extinguisher selection, capacity, certification, FOB and OEM.

What fire classes do ABC dry powder extinguishers cover?

ABC dry powder (monoammonium phosphate) extinguishers cover Class A (ordinary combustibles such as wood, paper, textiles), Class B (flammable liquids) and Class C (flammable gases), and are also effective on live electrical equipment. Our units are rated 13A–55A / 55B–233B / C.

What is the difference between portable and wheeled (trolley) extinguishers?

Portable units of 1kg–8kg suit offices, shops, workshops, vehicles and homes. Wheeled (trolley) units of 20kg / 35kg / 50kg suit high-risk sites such as warehouses, oil depots, ports and factories, with larger capacity and a longer discharge hose.

Do you provide OEM / private-label service?

Yes. We supply neutral-pack or custom-branded extinguishers and components (cylinders, valves, hoses, horns, gauges, levers) with your logo, color and labeling, and support custom cartons and documentation.

What certifications do your products carry?

Our management system is certified to ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 / ISO 45001. Applicable extinguisher models are CE marked and EN3 certified. We can arrange third-party inspection and provide test reports.

What are your MOQ and lead time?

MOQ is typically 500–1000 pcs for portable extinguishers, 50–100 pcs for wheeled units, and 2000+ for OEM components. Lead time is about 15–30 days after deposit; container orders are planned ahead with a production schedule.

Do you quote FOB?

Yes. We provide complete FOB (FOB Ningbo / Shanghai) quotations covering product, packaging, documentation and carton. CIF / CFR terms are available on request.

What is the working pressure and temperature range?

Standard units work at about 14 bar (test pressure 27 bar) and operate from -30°C to +60°C. Cold-climate options and higher ratings are available on request.

Can I buy extinguisher parts separately?

Yes. We supply cylinders, valves, hoses, horns / nozzles, pressure gauges and operating levers to overseas fire-equipment assemblers and manufacturers, with flexible combinations and custom threads.

What is the service life of the extinguisher?

The dry powder is generally replaced every 5 years and the cylinder undergoes hydrostatic test every 5 years per local regulation. We provide maintenance guidance and spare-part lists.

Which countries do you export to?

We mainly export to Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa, the CIS and other Belt & Road markets that recognize Chinese ISO and three-system certifications.

How are extinguishers packaged for sea freight?

Units are packed in cartons on pallets with anti-rust and moisture protection. We provide 20ft / 40ft container loading plans and full shipping documents.

What hose length and discharge time does the 35kg wheeled unit have?

Typically the 35kg wheeled ABC unit ships with a reinforced discharge hose in the roughly 0.5–1.0 m range, often paired with a short nozzle or applicator, though exact length varies by model and buyer specification. Discharge time depends on powder formulation, nozzle type, and operator technique; buyers commonly see full-discharge times in the region of 30–60 seconds, but this should be confirmed on the test report rather than assumed. For importers and assembly plants, we suggest specifying hose length and coupling thread in the purchase order so the unit matches local handling preferences and spare-part availability.

What is the typical agent weight and discharge time of a 1kg ABC extinguisher?

A 1kg ABC dry powder unit typically holds about 1kg of agent and discharges in roughly 6–10 seconds, though exact figures vary by valve and nozzle design. It suits small vehicles, offices, and light-duty use where portability matters more than total capacity. Buyers should confirm the rated discharge time and effective range on the manufacturer's test data, since nozzle type and powder flow properties affect performance. For OEM orders, we can align discharge characteristics with your target specification, subject to testing and applicable standards.

Can safety pins be supplied as loose OEM parts?

Yes, safety pins are commonly available as loose OEM parts. We can supply them as individual components in bulk or matched to valve heads, typically in cartons of several hundred to a few thousand pieces depending on size. Most pins are zinc-plated steel with a tamper seal or pull ring; exact material and dimensions should be confirmed against your valve drawing. For mixed container loads, pins can be packed alongside cylinders or valve heads to reduce freight cost. Specify pin diameter, length, and ring type when ordering, and expect lead times in the range of a few weeks.

What thread size is the nozzle on your ABC extinguisher valve heads?

Thread sizes vary by model and market, so we confirm the exact spec against your valve head drawing before production. Common ABC dry powder nozzle connections fall in the M14–M20 metric range or equivalent NPT/BSP sizes, depending on cylinder capacity and valve design. Nozzles are usually sold as matched sets with the valve head to keep discharge performance consistent. For OEM assembly plants, please share a sample or thread gauge reading; we can then supply loose nozzles and retaining parts in bulk cartons with the valve heads.

What is the cylinder size and fill weight of an 8kg ABC extinguisher?

An 8kg ABC dry powder extinguisher typically uses a cylinder of roughly 10–13 litres internal volume, filled with approximately 8kg of ABC powder plus a small reserve space for expansion. The exact cylinder diameter and height vary by manufacturer and design, so overall dimensions and empty weight should be confirmed against the specific model's datasheet. Buyers sourcing OEM units or replacement cylinders should verify thread and valve compatibility, and note that nominal fill weights may carry a small tolerance depending on powder bulk density and local filling practice.

What material and wire diameter are your safety pins?

Most likely stainless steel or galvanized steel wire, typically around 2–4 mm diameter, with a ring or loop end for quick pulling. Exact material and diameter depend on valve head design and target market requirements. We can match your drawing or sample, and confirm material, finish, and dimensions before production. For OEM orders, pins can be supplied loose or pre-fitted to valve heads. Please share your specification or reference sample so we can quote accordingly and avoid fitment issues.

How many 8kg ABC extinguishers fit in a 20ft container?

Generally around 400–550 units per 20ft container, depending on carton size and palletizing. An 8kg portable unit typically ships one or two per carton, and container loading is limited by both volume and weight, so the exact count is confirmed at order time based on your packaging preference. We can provide a loading plan before shipment. For mixed orders with other sizes, loading is optimized accordingly. Final figures depend on carton dimensions and any pallet requirements you specify.

How do I read the pressure gauge on an ABC extinguisher?

The needle should sit in the green zone; red means under- or over-pressure. Gauges are typically 1-inch (25 mm) dials, often with a colored green band and a colored red band, and are usually filled with glycerin or dry. Check monthly and after any impact or temperature extremes. If the needle stays outside the green zone, replace the gauge or valve head rather than recharge blindly. Gauges are available as loose OEM parts for assembly plants.
